FXtion Records presents BGR (Bradley Gunn Raver) Sessions – A series of events around the UK starting off in the city of Bristol on Saturday 9th July 2016 at The Moon Club (Lakota).
We can now reveal the four main acts who will be playing on 9th July 2016:
Alexis Raphael (Hot Creations / Madtech / Toolroom)
Alexis Raphael is part of London’s new breed of international electronic music stars. He earned his stripes across the pirate radio stations of North and East London during the late 90s and early 00s and went on to hold residencies at such legendary London clubs as The Cross and Turnmills.
Alexis then knuckled down in the studio and got his first release, Spaceship, signed in 2011 to Jamie Jones and Lee Foss’ Hot Waves imprint bringing him into the international spotlight.
Since then, he’s had numerous releases and remixes on labels including Madtech, Hot Creations, Moda Black, Jackathon Jams, Culprit, Leftroom, Get Physical, Nervous, not forgetting his anthem, ‘I know’, on Hot Creations, with in excess of 1 million Youtube views. Nominated by DJ Mag for best break-through DJ in 2012 and gaining a residency at Manchester’s Warehouse Project that same year, really cemented Alexis’ place in UK underground music.
Now with a new slew of new material signed to the likes of Kerri Chandler’s MadTech Records, Skream’s imprint Of Unsound Mind, and a huge track about to drop on Hot Creations, it’s clear 2015 and beyond are going to be stellar for Alexis.
Expect a diverse, meandering spectrum of house and techno and a hypnotic journey across the dance floor.
SEFF (Hot Creations / Madtech / VIVa MUSiC)
In such a short amount of time SEFF has already achieved so much in his musical career, with signings to some of the most respected and sought-after underground labels in the industry he has made a huge impact in the Underground House and Techno scene with his distinct crossover style of raw, underground Deep/Tech House and Techno music with tonnes of attitude, swing, swagger and packed full of energy in both his productions and skilfully constructed DJ sets.
Since being Signed to Steve Lawler’s VIVa MUSiC at the back end of 2012, he has gone on to release on many other hugely respected labels as well which has also led him to working with an array of the very top artists and legends of the scene and even remixing solely for no other than Dave Seaman on Great Stuff Recordings and also being signed to Dave’s own label ‘Selador’ with an array of releases.
Lately he’s been receiving a massive amount of support with his productions from some of the biggest and best artists in the scene and right across the board. Also reaching high positions in many of the big charts including reaching the Top 13 on Beatport and the like. This is an in-angle in which he has many plans and ideas for the future and already has a major following for his sound.
Although a fairly new name to the underground House and Techno scene, SEFF is by far no newcomer to the underground scene as a whole. From a very early age he has been brought up in the underground scene and now for more than half of his life has been truly dedicated to perfecting his style as an artist under many different alias’. Running numerous successful record labels over the years has made him very involved within the scene gaining countless BBC Radio 1 support and working alongside an array of very big named artists from around the globe who have supported him massively over the years and has been lucky enough to have played right across the world from Japan to Ibiza to Ireland and Scotland on numerous occasions and of course throughout all of the UK.
Mindmaze Music is the brainchild of SEFF as a platform to release his own productions and other already established artists material as well as bringing fresh, new talent to the forefront to showcase their music to the masses, Mindmaze stands for true underground House and Techno music, which is why it is rapidly turning into such a great label and the favourite of many underground music lovers around the world.
SEFF also hosts his own monthly podcast, the ‘Mindcast’ in which he showcases the very best selection of releases from which he has been playing throughout the month with the occasional classics thrown into the mix for good measure and of course previewing exclusives from Mindmaze Music itself and hosting guest mixes to an array of top artists. With big things in the pipeline, SEFF is certainly an artist to watch out for at the moment and in the words of Dave Seaman “SEFF has a big, bright future ahead of him”.
Tommy Vercetti (Definition / Eton Messy / Love Not Money)
Introducing Tom Cox, the 21 year old DJ and music producer from the West Midlands, otherwise known as Tommy Vercetti. Having had the pleasure of playing all around the UK and with regular overseas bookings in Europe, 2015 has been an exciting year for Tommy.
With Radio 1 support, numerous remix requests and tipped as one of Eton Messy’s ‘Top 5 to watch’, it’s no wonder Tommy’s recent release on Love Not Money Records has gained support from artists including Tensnake, Josh Butler, Claude VonStroke, Route 94 and Shapeshifters.
Growing up, Garage was the prominent sound for Tommy and his music today bears strong influences from that era. Music runs in the family; with his dad being a DJ, Tommy has grown up listening to quality House, Disco & Soul music, and has been DJing and making music since his early teen years. With such strong influences, non-stop bookings and a growing number of releases gaining support from all the right people, Tommy is certainly one to watch out for.
Mhod (Elrow / Defined Music / FXtion)
The Mhod project borns by the collaboration and by the joined forces of two close Italian friends. Formerly known as Relow (Italy), in June 2015, they decided to change their art name and to slightly change their music style and attitude, but obviously still keeping their own unique groove. Their music is already out on labels like Elrow Music, Witty Tunes, Lapsus Music, Defined and Endless Music. Their tech house tune “The Whisper” recently hit the 3rd spot in the tech house chart on Traxsource, and their productions are constantly supported and played out by artists like wAff, Solardo, Stacey Pullen, Ilario Alicante, Ramiro Lopez , Mario Ochoa, DJ Simi, Jey Kurmis and more…
The full line up will be announced soon.
