Weekend Review – AEW Daniel Avery and VOID Digbeth

An Evening With Daniel Avery at The Marble Factory, Bristol

On Friday 26th February I was in my local city of Bristol raving at The Marble Factory (part of Motion) for An Evening With Daniel Avery. I had never seen Daniel Avery before or heard much of him so it was a chance to explore more music for me. I was the first one in and had the honor of being invited in early so I could chill out inside while AEW set up.

I trusted the guys at An Evening With to bring a monster to The Marble Factory and they sure did!

It was great to see that everyone was really putting in the energy and going for it all night which really pushed the vibes to 110%. I was loving life!!

After the rave finished, I made my way back home, had around two hours sleep before I had to get up for the next rave: VOID Digbeth.

VOID Digbeth at Monastery, Birmingham

On Saturday 27th February I made my way up to Birmingham for the VOID Digbeth 2016 Opening Rave. For those who don’t already know, this is what VOID is about:

A new era in underground clubbing is coming to the Victorian industrial homeland we call Digbeth.

Set in a derelict Monastery accessed by Lower Trinity Street, VOID takes its inspiration from the yesteryear raves of the 1990’s.

The ingredients are simple… raw venue, intimate crowds, affordable prices, bespoke LED production and a ground shaking VOID Acoustics sound system.

The Music policy: House/Tech/Bass with a heavy influence form the underground. Showcasing established international DJ’s with up and coming new talent.

Our goal is to create the ultimate aural experience. A no expense spared VOID sound system coupled with an expertly acoustically treated room allow us to take the sound pressure levels to heights unheard of in Birmingham, yet maintaining the crystal clear audio VOID Acoustics are famous for.

We are VOID.

VOID is a rave made by ravers… but not just any kind of ravers, it is the West Midlands ravers. Some ravers were also representing BGR:

aMo was absolutely smashing it and can’t wait to have him playing at the Banjax presents Bradley Gunn Raver all day rave on 1st May:

I was also representing for Tommy Vercetti whilst he was playing:

Everything about VOID is real and you can really feel it when you rave there. There is no ego barrier between raver and dj, no VIP, everyone is on the same level and are there for the same reason: to rave. Special thanks to all the VOID team, ravers and dj’s who make it what it is. I will be back at some point further down the rave calendar. Keep it real, keep it VOID.
