18th / 19th September 2015 I spent the weekend raving around Bristol.
Friday night Liquifyah were hosting the 10 years of Spearhead Records rave. Liquifyah is a drum and bass event promoter and not just any old d&b promoter. Liquifyah are my favourite d&b promoter and always provide a top level rave with a good range of dnb, a nice crowd (no jumped up peeps) and a quality sound system. What made Friday even more special was that I was with my film directors shooting part of the documentary. Yes, expect to see some of a Liquifyah in the doc when it comes out (around the end of the year).
After a bit of a rest Saturday morning, I made my way down to Lakota for the Who?¿Cares all day rave. Now this was a top quality rave in the heart of Bristol in the sun. Started the day with some bass / house, worked into a bit of techno and finished with a dnb set. It was good to have a rave with one stage and various genres of dance music.
Saturday night Banjax were very kind to invite me along to their rave at Timbuk 2 for free and gave me a Banjax T-shirt to represent in. Banjax host House & Techno raves in Bristol and on Saturday they definitely lived up to their name. Had me raving right from the start and very quickly filled up with a large crowd as always.
I could only stay at Banjax for a few hours though as I had to make my way to the Psychotherapy Sessions rave at Cosies. It was Roy Bar’s birthday bash and it was good to catch up with some old mates. Psychotherapy Sessions on Saturday was on top form pushing out a range of Techno, Dubstep and Garage.
